Taylor Lane Invests in Haulage Service
Taylor Lane Timber Frame is pleased to announce investment in a dedicated haulage service with the acquisition of Hereford-based haulier, Mike Brookes Transport. Employees, including seven drivers and a transport manager, have moved across to Taylor Lane. Brookes’ fleet of lorries, including small, rigid vehicles and articulated units towing a variety of trailers are also under new ownership.
The acquisition follows over 20 years of trading between the two businesses.
“Mike Brookes Transport is one of just a handful of hauliers with the capacity, skill and capability to transport our timber frame kits across the country,” says Barrie Lane, joint managing director, Taylor Lane Timber Frame.
“They have been going almost as long as we have, over 30 years now, and there’s an immense amount of knowledge amongst the staff. It was important that we retained that experience, for continuity of delivery and maintaining standards. We are pleased to welcome our new team members and we look forward to extending the benefits of this investment to our customers.”
The new committed haulage service follows a busy and successful two years for the Hereford-based timber frame specialist. The business is currently onsite servicing one of its largest ever contracts – supplying timber frame kits for 450 new homes for service personnel and their families, relocating from Germany to Wiltshire.
