Offsite Construction

For more than three decades Taylor Lane has been at the forefront of the offsite construction industry.

Offsite construction simply refers to the planning, design, fabrication and assembly of a building at a site other than its final installed location.  Our methods are all down to a fabric first approach; manufacturing and constructing within factory conditions and ensuring consistent quality, repeatedly.

The advantages of Offsite Construction:

Assured quality

Factory manufactured frames, floors and panels ensure that each and every component is precision built.  This greatly reduces the margin for error and enables consistency.  Quality control within our own manufacturing sites ensures a value-engineered product that can be erected quickly and easily, every time.  We are continually investing in the latest design software and manufacturing equipment.

Fabric first

Our fabric first approach means that we design all the energy efficiency into the product or building envelope in the most cost-effective way.  This reduces the need for retro-fitting.  Reduced heating bills for residents then follow with the increased thermal performance and air tightness.

Build speed

Offsite construction greatly improves the speed of a build both on and offsite.  Factory conditions allow for year-round manufacturing, unaffected by adverse weather conditions.  Once onsite the components can be easily and rapidly constructed for fast ground-to-roof erection.  Typically a four-bedroom house can be started on a Monday and be wind and water tight within a week.

Lower costs

As each offsite project is completed in our factories the need for labour and materials onsite is greatly reduced. This also means less waste and less product damage in the field.

Taylor Lane Services

"We have had a very good experience with Taylor Lane, with great service from start to finish. We especially enjoyed the tour of the professional factory."

5/ 5 Stars

"Taylor Lane were key to the design process. They do all the engineering calculations...and tell you if something’s possible or not, calculate the truss requirements etc. "

5/ 5 Stars

"We have a long history with Taylor Lane. They have worked with Lovell and been part of our supply chain for well over 15 years, that I know to. When I have visited Hereford (on a number of occasions), it’s a welcoming business that’s open, honest and transparent on all matters commercial, design, technical. We quickly derived confidence that they were the right choice for us...and that’s been vindicated by performance onsite thereafter."

5/ 5 Stars

"We had worked with them [Taylor Lane] previously and were happy to continue that relationship knowing the quality of the frame and the service that we would receive."
