Taylor Lane Team Gallops Through Furlong Fury Fundraiser
On one of the hottest days of the year, a team of Taylor Lane employees and their families took part in the Furlong Fury, a gruelling 5k obstacle course around Hereford racecourse. Organised by Halo Leisure Trust, a registered charity and not for profit organisation, working in partnership with Urban Attack, the fundraising event saw the 10-strong team tackle a 24 furlong (5k) route and 20+ obstacles, including 5ft and 8ft walls; cargo nets; tsunami wave wall; tyre carries and mud & ice baths!
The team comprised Rebekah, Lisa, Sophie, Dawn, Joel (Dawn’s son), Paul, Jo (Paul’s wife), Nick, Ashleigh and Sarah. Exhausted, dirty and exhilarated, the team were presented with medals by the Mayor of Hereford, Councillor Sue Boulter.
Halo Sport Foundation was the main beneficiary which provides support for talented local athletes.
“It was so much fun, we had a great time and made sure we did it as a team rather than a couple of us racing off which made it even more fun,” said Rebekah Bishop, Taylor Lane timber frame estimator and Furlong Fury team member.
“We were lucky at the Ninja Wall – the team in front of us were firefighters so a couple of the men held back and yanked us all up!”
