Announcement – Barrie Lane
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barrie Lane, co-founder and joint managing director of Taylor Lane Timber Frame. After a short illness, Barrie passed away on the morning of Sunday 29th November 2020, aged 67.
A recognised figure in the timber frame world, Barrie devoted almost 50 years of his career to the industry. In 1982, he started Taylor Lane Timber Frame with friend and former colleague, Colin Taylor. They began building frames in a small factory in Hereford; growing to a multi-million-pound business manufacturing around 2500 timber frame units each year.
Barrie Lane was a warm and courteous man. Customers and staff held him in great regard and admired his professionalism, sheer determination and friendly but firm manner. He will be greatly missed.
We extend our deepest condolences to all his family.
As a mark of respect Taylor Lane Timber Frame will be closed for external enquiries on Tuesday 15th December. Sadly, due to the current restrictions, the funeral service is limited to immediate family and close friends. Details for flowers and/or donations will be announced soon.
