A Sense of Community - Hereford Times Article, Page 3
Posted on the 16th November 2006

The reputation Taylor Lane enjoys in the industry for its honesty, trust and reliability applies as much inside the company as it does for its customers. Every member of staff is valued, each one encouraged and a full training programme available for all. As much is invested in the staff as in the business, as the management team aims for a workforce that wants to be at work, proud to work for Taylor Lane and all equally involved in the company’s achievements. Input from the staff is encouraged, with opinions and views listened to and acted on. Ambition is regarded as a positive. And, always on the lookout for talented and motivated staff, the company welcomes applications from anyone who wants more than just a job and would like to be part of a business that encourages its staff to grow with it. Today’s hi-tech, fully computerised design room may be light years from the way in which Taylor Lane’s first timber frames were drawn, cut and assembled, but it shares one significant quality – a commitment to the highest standards of construction and customer care. And those high standards extend into the wider community, too, the community which is home to both founding partners. Colin Taylor has recently gone back to school to offer students at Whitecross, his old school, some insight into the skills and discipline required to be effective in business. Proving that it’s not ‘all work and no play’ and wanting to put something back into their home county, Taylor Lane also sponsor two local football clubs – Hinton Football Club and the Taylor Lane Sunday league side, with plans in the pipeline for further sponsored projects in the community.
