Congratulations to our sales manager, Wayne Ricketts for completing the Virgin Money London Marathon 2017! Despite being plagued by a groin injury during training Wayne finished in a respectable 5:19:57 and was placed 31,517.
Raising money for our colleague, Cory who has been diagnosed with a brain tumour, Wayne had set a target of £3000 to fund the transformation of Cory’s conservatory into a bedroom. Although money is still coming in Wayne’s total is set to reach £4000! An amazing figure.
“It was a great day and I have been so overwhelmed by all the support I have received, bearing in mind this happens every year with around 40,000 people. Thank you to everyone for their generosity.
The build-up was a bit rubbish as I pulled my groin so was unable to train for four weeks. Even at the start line I was unsure if I would walk or run; I just took some pain killers and cracked on!
The atmosphere is addictive so I will be looking to do it again.”
Wayne Ricketts, Taylor Lane.
In support of Wayne’s achievement and to aid Cory in his recovery we will be donating some of the materials required for the build.
